      Pumps driven

The range of driven pumps has been developed and designed with the many needs in mind for users of fire protection vehicles in mind, combines the features of high efficiency and reliability and includes a wide range of flow rates and benefits from a multitude options.
Adaptable to all types of emergency vehicles, it is the perfect solution for professional firefighters.

      CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS

A centrifugal pump is a rotating machine that pumps a liquid by forcing it through a paddle wheel also called an impeller.

This is the type of pump found on all firefighting equipment.
Without going too far technically, it is made up of a body (outer casing) inside which a paddle wheel (or impeller) rotates, driven by a transmission shaft connected to a power take-off, itself connected to a transfer case.
By the effect of the rotation of the wheel, the water enters it through the supply opening and is then accelerated. It is finally delivered inside the collector (not visible here but connected to the discharge point) which supplies all of the delivery outlets of a machine.

The legislator provides that the CCFS and FPT pumps deliver 2000 l / min under 15 b, a 1500/15 pump on a CCFM, CCR and FPTL.

SDIS 13, for example, wants its FPTs to be fitted with a 3000/15 pump.
Depending on its flow rate, the rotation speed of the pump can climb to 10 rpm.
The pumps mounted on airport or refinery machines deliver 6000 l / min or even more, under a pressure of 15b.

Operation of the pump driven by the traction motor of the vehicle:

By activating a pneumatic switch from the machine's dashboard, the pump is caused to operate by making the action of the transmission shaft inert for the benefit of the machine's power take-off which, from transfer box, transmits engine speed no longer to the wheels but to the pump shaft.

Due to their extinguishing capability while driving, the CCFs and CCRs can still progress with the pump in motion, it suffices when launching the vehicle acquisition market, to request it as soon as the technical specifications are written specific to each machine.
